Piper 12/5/08 - 6/1/09

It could be true that only the good die young - Piper would have been a fitting example in the canine world.

For me it's akin to losing a child - and since I haven't any of my own, it's the closest I've gotten.

I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything more to help you grow up to be an adult and live a long life, Piper. You will always be special to me.

  2. It always breaks my heart when someone loses a dog, possibly because I have felt the loss so keenly myself.

I think it might be a dog's ability to love so unconditionally that makes them especially endearing to us.

  3. The vet was not sure. She got very sick and it hit her quickly. They tested her for Parvo twice - came back negative both times. She either somehow poisoned herself or had some other unusual virus/sickness. We really don't know, but it's terrible that she never got to live a nice long life with us. She was my bestest four-legged friend ever.

  5. Pet necromancy would be nice.

Just let her know you're thinking of her. I've had a few talks with the empty space in the kitchen and I feel a little better :)

  7. Very sorry to hear about this. I can understand why some people can become more attached to dogs than to people. Hope you get over it soon.

  8. Awwwww...I understand completely. Dogs are a man's best friend. She is a pretty dog. I hope she rests in peace. Take care and I already know she will always have a special place in your heart forever.

  10. How horribly, horribly sad. I am truly sorry. I have been there myself a few times and I know how it hurts. And such a beautiful dog, too. I hope that the pain subsides for you quickly.

  11. Thanks, D. I knew you would understand the pain. Nt having my fluffy white shadow around has been very hard to get used to.
